Shrink Wrap Program Update

Think Green and save money too!

Participate in the RIMTA Shrink Wrap Recycling Program can help save space at the Rhode Island Central Landfill and save you money on disposal fees. Bags sell for $10.00 which includes delivery and pick up.

The Rhode Island Marine Trade Association (RIMTA) has taken all administrative duties of the Shrink-wrap program. Previously you have purchased bags and scheduled pick ups through IRN. Now all scheduling and bag purchasing will be through RIMTA.

For Bag orders please call RIMTA at 401.615.5419 or email rimta at info@rimta.org.

Everything else is the same. Cost of bags will still be $10.00 and the recycling company will remain the same, Frades/PF Trading.

Changes you will notice!

I will be calling/ or emailing you to find out if you need a pick up. The schedule will remain the same, Tuesday and Thursday every other week in the un wrap season. Depending on the quantity which is in need of being picked up, a Wednesday run might be added.

By bringing this Program in-house to be managed by RIMTA is a way to control costs! We want your feedback! Are we doing it right? What changes would you like to see?

The Board as well as myself, hope to grow this Program and begin to recycle other materials. Did you know in 2008 over 140,000 lbs of wrap was recycled! We thank you for your continued commitment to the environment and to the Industry!

Please do not hesitate to contact me with your questions, or concerns. Please send me updated information of who I should be speaking with or sending emails to regarding pick up, bag orders, etc.
