RIMTA is extending the deadline for training applications. The new deadline is November 15, 2011.
Through generous support from the RI Governor’s Workforce Board, RIMTA members with a valid business in the state are eligible to apply for financial support for qualified and approved industry skills training. Due to the nature of these funds, certain restrictions do apply:
o Training must begin after November 7, 2011 and be completed by June 1, 2012.
o Training must be connected to a wage increase, a certification and/or a promotion.
o Training funds are provided via reimbursement only. Proof of payment is required.
o A 50% cost match is required with a maximum of $2,000 per award. Example: A training costs $1,000 per person. You send 3 people totaling $3,000. Your application would be for $1,500. If chosen, actual financial award could be less than you ask.
Funds are limited. Applications must be received by November 1, 2011 at 4PM
Applications are competitive and will be reviewed and awarded by a committee. Preference will be given to new applicants (companies who did not receive ISDI/GWB training funds in the past, 2007-2011) and those trainings which provide a high level of skill increase in high demand areas and/or cross over skills training. Please submit one application per training however you may submit up to 2 applications. Return completed applications to Jen Cornwell via email at jen@rimta.org or fax at 401-396-9296 by the November 1 deadline. Any questions can be directed to Jen at jen@rimta.org or 401-241-1588.
