Gurit USA has vacancies for talented composites structural engineers to join the Engineered Structures Division at their Bristol, RI office. The ideal candidate would be a mid-senior level engineer though excellent junior engineers will also be considered.
A master’s degree in marine/structural engineering is preferred. An excellent knowledge of the fundamentals of composite structures is essential.
Experience
•5+ years structural engineering
•3+ years composite experience
•Knowledge of marine engineering would be an advantage but automotive/aerospace composites experience is considered relevant
•Knowledge of various marine scantling rules is an advantage
Skills
•Hand calculations for concept engineering and checking essential
•Perform detailed calculations with MS Excel and in-house tools
•FEA using Altair Hyperworks/ MSC Nastran would be advantageous
