Portsmouth, Rhode Island, USA -- The debut of Hunt’s new Harrier 29 in the recent Newport and Norwalk Boat Shows drew many accolades from the marketplace and the industry. The Harrier 29 is designed and engineered to combine the best of classic Hunt bloodlines with modernized styling and high-performance propulsion to deliver the ultimate cruising dayboat. Featuring an open cockpit with comfortable L-settee seating, this Harrier is the perfect cocktail cruiser or family adventure boat. Stuart Montgomery, Hunt engineer and designer, points out that “we have created a boat for functional versatility and comfort, adding such features as complete bar with sink, drawer-style fridge, trashbins, removable seating to access a center entrance transom door, extra-wide companion door, comfortable berth, maximum storage, and enclosed head with shower.” And of course the renowned Hunt deep-V hull has remained and delivers a boat that runs remarkably dry and smooth at any speed.

The Harrier 29 is configured to accept from a range of 6 propulsion choices, using either sterndrives, inboards or waterjets, a distinction which makes Hunt unique in the industry. The standard engine, Volvo Penta 8.1 gas I/O @ 375HP, will deliver a top speed of 36 knots; other power options include diesel and gas engines to 425 HP. The centrally located engine leaves the transom clear and opens the stern area for easy entertaining.

The intelligent design, exquisite craftsmanship and sophisticated features, such as expandable L-settee, teak bridge-deck table (with storage cover), teak helm and dash, function to create a richly detailed entertaining environment. The enormous cockpit offers usable space normally found in much larger yachts, and remains spray-free under adverse running conditions because of the sophisticated hull shape, raked windscreen and side windows which fully protect the bridge area. The wrap-around helm console of the Harrier 29, configured to accept a large flat-screen multi-function chartplotter, is ergonomically engineered. And all this without compromising the classic Hunt style and low profile.

The fit and finish of the Harrier 29 are exemplary and allow owners to personalize their boat by choosing from a wide range of superior upholstery materials and options that include rich teak appointments, sound systems and a wide choice of hull colors.

There are several factors that set Hunt Yachts conspicuously apart from other boats. Foremost is their hull design, the latest iteration of the legendary deep-V, which is at the heart of every Hunt design and the soul of their remarkable performance. That breakthrough innovation came from C. Raymond (“Ray”) Hunt, whose ongoing design firm has developed and refined deep-V design for more than 45 years. Hunt Yachts is unique in the powerboat world; no other boat-building firm has been formed or owned by naval architects.
